Different rules may apply on flights provided by our partner airlines.
* On some planes, there are space restrictions in the hold, which means that equipment longer than 180 cm / 70 in is not permitted.
Golf bag

Are you a Flying Blue Golf member? You may transport one golf bag containing golf equipment only at no extra charge, regardless of how many baggage items you check in.* To benefit from this allowance, please visit the Flying Blue Golf website and complete the corresponding form on your “Profile” page. You will receive a voucher to print and present at the airport.
* On flights provided by AIR FRANCE, KLM, Air Corsica, Air Calin or HOP!. Your golf bag must not exceed 23 kg / 50 lb in weight.

Scuba tanks
Compressed air scuba tanks are accepted in the hold, as long as they are empty and do not exceed 23 kg / 50 lb in weight. However, their transport is not included in your baggage allowance. At the airport, you must pay an extra fee* that varies based on your trip.
- Zone 1: €40
- Zone 2: €65 (or 75 USD on flights departing from a country outside of Europe)
- Zone 3: €55 (or 55 USD on flights departing from a country outside of Europe)
- Zone 4: €125 on departures from within the European zone (175 CAD for departures from Canada, 150 USD on departures from other countries)
- Zone 5: €100 on departures from within the European zone (120 CAD for departures from Canada, 100 USD on departures from other countries)

* This fee cannot be paid online. These one-way flight fees are only valid on flights provided by AIR FRANCE, KLM and HOP!.
Fishing equipment
This equipment is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Light and Basic fare tickets) if it is the only baggage that you want to check in (or one out of the 2 baggages allowed for the Business and La Première cabins.)

Bikes and tandems
What about my electric bicycle? No problem as long as the battery has been removed. Lithium batteries over 160 Wh are strictly forbidden on board our aircraft.
Transporting bikes, folding bikes and tandems is not included in your baggage allowance. At the airport, you must pay an additional fee* that varies based on the geographical zones (zones 1 - 5) below.
Amounts shown are for a maximum of 23 kg / 50 lb of equipment, including the container. If your baggage exceeds the maximum weight, please see the page “Additional baggage, Overweight baggage and Oversize baggage”.
- Zone 1: €40

- Remove the pedals
- Remove the front wheel and attach it to the frame
- Fix the handlebars to the side (parallel to the frame)
- Place your bike, folding bike or tandem in a protective container (cardboard, hard plastic, etc.)
Bike containers (175 x 21.5 x 86 cm / 68 x 8 x 33 in) are available for purchase at most Air France airport check-in counters.
Please note: when transporting a bike, folding bike or tandem on AIR&RAIL trips, SNCF requires the use of bike containers with the following maximum dimensions: 120 x 90 cm / 47 x 35 in.

Ski equipment
Ski equipment is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Light and Basic fare tickets) if it is the only baggage that you want to check in (or one out of the 2 baggages allowed for the Business and La Première cabins.)

Your ski equipment may include the following items:
- Alpine and cross-country skis: 1 pair of skis + 1 pair of poles + 1 pair of boots
- Snowboard: 1 board + 1 pair of boots
Please pack your skis or snowboard in a travel case that does not exceed 300 cm / 118 in in length. Your ski or snowboard boots can be packed in a separate bag. These 2 baggage items (travel case and bag) are considered as 1 standard checked baggage item and their transport is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance.
If you want to transport your ski helmet in the cabin, it will be considered as a hand baggage item and not an accessory. For more information, please see the Hand Baggage page.
Please note: transporting an avalanche airbag (including a gas system and pyrotechnic trigger) requires approval from our customer service department. You must submit your request at least 48 hours before your flight’s departure.
Water skis
Water ski equipment (skis only) is considered as a standard checked baggage item and is included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance (except for Light and Basic fare tickets) if it is the only baggage that you want to check in (or one out of the 2 baggages allowed for the Business and La Première cabins.) Please pack your water skis in a separate travel case that does not exceed 300 cm / 118 in in length.

Scooters

Please note: for security reasons, scooters are not authorized in the cabin. They are considered dangerous as they may be sharp. They will be refused at security checkpoints, confiscated and destroyed.

Surf, kite-surf, bodyboard, windsurf boards and longboards

Exceptions for flights to and from the United States, Canada or Mexico, or for corresponding flights via one of these countries
Your board is considered as a standard checked baggage item if it is less than 107 cm / 42 in in length and less than 23 kg / 50 lb in weight. It is therefore included at no extra charge in your baggage allowance if it is the only baggage that you want to check in (or one out of the 2 baggage items allowed for the Business and La Première cabins.)
Is your board between 107 and 300 cm in length? Are you flying to the USA, Canada or Mexico?
